Injection molding is a manufacturing process for plastic products in which melted plastic is injected into a mold and allowed to cool. The result is a plastic product in the desired shape.
Other commonly used production methods for thermoplastics are extrusion, rotational molding, blow-molding, and 3D printing. The benefits of injection molding include its ability to produce complex, dimensionally accurate pieces at high production rates. However, it is essential to select the production method on the basis of product requirements.
In the method, the plastic used as the raw material is melted at temperatures of 200–250°C, generated using electric resistors and heat arising from friction. Then, the material is injected into a mold at a pressure of up to 1,000–2,000 bar with a screw moving inside a cylinder. Because of the high pressure and temperatures involved in the process, the mold must be precise and made of high-quality materials to allow the production of up to millions of high-quality products.
The cycle time —or the time it takes to produce a plastic product or several products in the case of a multi-cavity mold—ranges from 6 to 200 seconds, depending on the material, mold performance, and other similar factors.

START COLLABORATION WITH US
We are often asked how we can offer services to our global customers while based in Finland. The answer is simple: price, quality, and delivery performance.
Most of the production factors are the same across the world, such as energy prices, production equipment, and raw materials. The main difference is in how efficiently the tools and materials are utilized. We have decades of experience in the manufacture and export of our products, which has given us plenty of knowledge and know-how that we are happy to share with our partners. Often in trade, the product price is treated as the main criterion, but we want to offer our partners a cost-efficient overall solution.
Our qualified and skilled personnel are the key factor in our high-quality production and operations. We exceed our customers’ expectations on a daily basis. Can we do the same for you? Contact us.
