Renos is a distributor of pipe renovation products, and it carries out sliplining projects. With the company’s solutions, municipal sewage and water supply pipes, pipe bridges, and culverts can be repaired quickly, reliably, and cost-efficiently, without the need for digging.
“Digging always means disruption to local residents and traffic. Removal of soil, building of foundations for new pipes, and installation of pipes require natural resources and impact air quality. A trenchless method is a more environmentally friendly and cost-efficient way to carry out work on pipe systems. This method is particularly popular in towns,” explains Sami Levänen, CEO at Renos.
In 2016, Renos was facing a turning point in its operations, and it required a new supplier of sliplining pipe segments. After some consideration, the company decided to produce its own products. Levänen contacted Wiitta to ask if the company was interested in collaboration. The project got off to a good start as Wiitta was also able to help with the search for mold manufacturers.
“Wiitta’s collaboration network included mold manufacturers, and the project got off the ground quickly. From our perspective, we were ready to deliver the finished products to our customers quickly—in about seven months.”
Since then, the companies have worked in close collaboration, and Renos is happy with Wiitta’s contribution.
“Wiitta is a good and flexible collaboration partner. Any challenges that have emerged have been dealt with quickly, and we have come out of them that little bit wiser.”
According to Levänen, Wiitta’s excellent logistics operations are a huge bonus to Renos. He says:
“Our customers get the products they ordered from Wiitta’s warehouse within a couple of days. In our sector, customers are used to quick deliveries, so this is a significant benefit to us.”
Levänen explains that Wiitta also has a great customer service attitude, which is evident even when schedules change suddenly.
“One year, we got an order from Russia during the summer vacation period. Wiitta was able to help us even though the schedule was tight. In the end, the CEOs of both companies took part in the packaging and loading of the products,” says Levänen.
Renos appreciates having a collaboration partner with operations in Finland.
“We are pleased that our partner helps create jobs in Finland. We also believe that our customers appreciate that the money they invest remains in Finland, benefiting the local economy,” explains Levänen.
